Love and Logic Parenting

As you all know from my bio and picture, I am blessed to be the mother of 2 very beautiful, very active little girls. They are both very spirited. For the longest time we had been having issues with our oldest daughters behavior. She was talking back, getting an attitude, yelling, screaming and overall just turning into quite the handful. She is SUCH a sweet girl, everyone loves her and loves to be around her. At home, though, as sweet as she is, we were constantly struggling to correct her behavior while she’s still young, before it got out of hand and we were faced with a dangerously disobedient teenager. After confiding in a friend from church that we were at our wits end with her, she introduced us to the Love and Logic method of parenting. She allowed us to borrow the book that they had purchased, so we started doing research and reading the book. Eventually we purchased a set of our own, that was written with our Kids ages in mind specifically. It came with a book and 3 audio CDs. After a few weeks of research, we decided to give it a try. We already knew a family that uses the method, and knew it worked for them. So we figured, hey what do we have to lose? It’s not like it could make her behavior any worse. As of today, we have been actively incorporating the tips into our lives for a little over a week, and her behavior is SO much better.

The main philosophy of the technique is centered around empathy and enforceable statements. I’ve added links to my blog to their websites for you to learn more information for yourself. As for me, I am planning to use this blog to document our Love and Logic experience. Hopefully our experiences can help someone else with their children.

I’ll also add that the Love and Logic Institute has methods for all ages. Not just young children. And they have books tailored to parents with Special Needs Children. They also have couples books as well.

I look forward to sharing our journey with you.
