I just read a post from a woman who was complaining about Harry Potter saying that it was sinful and allowing our children to watch/read it was irresponsible parenting. When asked why she said because of the magic. Yet, she … Continue reading
There is a group of verses in first Corinthians that I would be willing to bet that 70% can quote from memory and about 20% can at least quote part of it. It is widely used to argue against homosexuality among other things, and more often than not it is used to shame people or put them down.
1 Corinthians 6:9b-10 says, “Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men not thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”
I’m not here to argue with the verse. I do believe what it says. However, about 90% of the time, people stop reading there and fail to read what is the MOST IMPORTANT part of that passage.
If you continue reading, verse 11 reads:
“And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”
How many Christians struggle with things that they condemn non-Christians or other Christians of? When that verse was written, it wasn’t meant to condemn. It was supposed to be a wake up call. Yes, it is calling out sinful behavior, but more importantly it is reminding us that if it weren’t for Jesus we would be very different. Lost and alone just searching for what we think would make us happy. Sin is sin, no matter what it is. And all sin is equal.
When you see someone struggling or living in a way that you know to be sinful, just remember that God loves them where they are and Jesus’s body was broken for them too. And like the verse says, that is what you WERE. Don’t be so hypocritical to think that you are better because you are no longer drowning in sin, rather be thankful that you were delivered from that life. And remember also that you were delivered to live with a purpose! Use your struggles to help those with similar struggles. What good does it do to be delivered if you keep that deliverance to yourself? You’ve been given a gift. Share it!
so today has been an interesting day. The girls have played very well and had few issues. However, their favorite thing to do today is blow raspberries on each other. Cute? Yes. Weird? Yes. I had to put a stop to it because they were getting kind of rough. Now they are laying in the floor talking to each other
Oldest: this is gonna be a good year
Oldest: cause you’re gonna get a baby brother and a puppy.
Yeah neither of which is true.
My oldest is so cute!! She and the youngest have Ana and Elsa dolls (the youngest has the soft
toddler ones and the oldest has the harder preschooler ones.) Well the oldest just brought me
Elsa and the doll is completely naked (with the exception of her underwear which are painted on).
Trying not to laugh, I said “sweetie, your doll needs clothes on so she’ll stay warm, do you want
to put them back on or would you like me to do it.” She thinks for a second and says, “Mommy,
it’s Elsa! The cold never bothered her anyway!” My child, everyone!
For the longest time we had been having issues with our oldest daughters behavior. She was talking back, getting an attitude, yelling, screaming and overall just turning into quite the handful. She is SUCH a sweet girl, everyone loves her and loves to be around her. At home, though, as sweet as she is, we were constantly struggling to correct her behavior while she’s still young, before it got out of hand and we were faced with a dangerously disobedient teenager. Sorry for the late post, yesterday was CRAZY and I didn’t get a chance go post. But I did cook, I made crisp bean burritos, that to me were more like taquitos than burritos but anyway. They were super easy to make!! I was able to get 20 out of 1 can of refried beans.
They were super filling and delixious. We had several left over so my husband had a little midnight snack haha.
Crisp Bean Burritos
Not sure what I’m going to make today…guess I should probably figure that out.
So today I made Caprese Lasagna Roll ups, and I have to be honest, they weren’t as intimidating as I thought. The hardest part was figuring out how to cook the pasta because I didn’t have a pot/pan big enough. I got creative and I stacked the pasta in a pyrex dish and boiled water in my kettle then poured it over the pasta. boom, problem solved. I actually had a lot of fun making them, and it didn’t take too long either. Most of what needed to be prepped could be done before the pasta was done cooking. Putting the ricotta, tomatoes, and basil on the pasta was the longest part, but it was really easy. It was a tad messy, but that could probably be blamed on my lack of experience with the ricotta and the lasagna noodles. My final product looked a bit different than hers did, but they were still delicious. I LOVE really saucy pasta, mostly because I love to use my garlic bread to wipe the plate clean, so instead of putting a spoonful over each roll, I just poured the sauce all over. If you choose to do it this way, be sure you extend the cooking time. It took about an extra 20 minutes to cook mine.
I really enjoyed working outside of my element today. I can’t wait to share my choice for tomorrow!!
God bless, and good night!!
Ok, So today I made Creamy Tomato and Spinach Pasta. I found the recipe on Pinterest and I am SO glad I chose it. It is so delicious and filling and so easy to make. basically if you can chop, stir, and cook pasta you can make this. The picture does NOT do it justice, let me tell you. I didn’t add a lot of spinach because my husband isn’t big on it. And I didn’t really use the measurements that were suggested because I always try to make extra for my husband to take to work. I also substituted whole grain pasta and added a few sprigs of cilantro because well, I wanted to. and as Juila Child said, There’s no end to imagination in the kitchen!! I highly recommend this dish! We had 5 left over containers for the rest of the week, if they last that long. bon appétit!
The recipe for this delicious dish can be found at the website below!!
I have had a slightly unhealthy obsession with pinterest for a long time. I pin and pin and save, and rarely do I go back and do what I pin. No more!! I made a list and went shopping, and … Continue reading
